46 food, dietary supplement recalls initiated

Food producers carried out 46 food or dietary supplement product recalls over the past month, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Such companies decide to pull products from the marketplace when the food is inaccurately labeled, when it creates a potential health risk for consumers due to contamination or when the food has caused a sickness outbreak, the FDA reports.
